Architecture 2.0
17 ERMOLAEVSKY LANE
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
The Moscow Museum of Modern Art, together with A-House, an educational platform for the architecture and construction sector, is opening the Architecture 2.0 exhibition. It explores the interaction between people and space through the lens of contemporary architecture. It is set to be part of the A-Fest 2026 architecture festival. This year, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art has become an institutional partner of the festival, and the project itself is taking place at the MMOMA Education Centre in Ermolayevsky Lane, a venue with its own architectural history. In the early 20th century, the building housed the Moscow Architectural Society’s apartment block. During the A-Fest, the building returns to its historical role as a meeting place for the professional community.
Across two floors of the MMOMA Education Centre, leading Moscow-based architectural practices will present their visions for the development of the city and its spaces. The exhibition will feature models, objects and installations from 19 studios, in which architects explore how Moscow might look and function in the near future.
Curator Monica Nors divides the exhibition into two parts. The first is devoted to urban planning gaps—spatial and conceptual ‘blank spots’ on the map of Moscow, fragments that fall outside the urban fabric. In the second part, the architects focus on interior spaces. This section brings together projects that consider scenarios of human interaction with the environment.
In the exhibition space, Arch(e)type presents a project for the world’s deepest vertical pool for freediving training. There, it is possible to simulate conditions of neutral buoyancy that are close to weightlessness. SPICH showcases a museum from a private collection that makes art accessible to all. Atrium proposes a residential area in the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain with new ways of living by the water, whilst Bureau WALL explains how the spaces between buildings can be used for compact public and service areas. Visitors can also see projects by Kamen, GAFA, NOWADAYS OFFICE, Saga, Herz, SKEMA, Kozin + Rueda, Workshop B, KIDZ, .dpt, HORA, CORE, KOSMOS, A + M, and Le Atelier.

A-Fest
A-Fest is an international urban architecture festival created by A-House, a club and educational platform for the architecture and construction sector, to discuss key challenges facing architecture and urban planning. It is a place for dialogue, bringing together architects, developers and city residents. The festival aims to shape the business and intellectual agenda of the architecture and construction sector, raise topical urban issues and seek solutions, showcase significant projects and enhance the status of the architectural professions. A-Fest works to popularise architecture and shape visions of the city of the future.
