The search for identity and social inequality (including the subordinate position of women), extremism and the attempts to overcome the negative stereotypes – these are the sore points that become the subject of the artist’s research. By shooting into the sand and frantically digging out the bullet afterwards, Makhacheva performs a certain ritual trying to get rid of the accumulated aggression. Thus, the artist-staged "empty" action became a symbol for senseless and faceless violence. The reality of this violence is witnessed not only by the sharp sound of the shot but also by the found bullet that acquired objectivity and was exposed for everyone to see it as the material evidence.
